The four female figures, the stage dancers, have been "translated" into the language of modernist art, which began in art history with Picasso (stylized geometry) and took the form of the "harsh style" (black outlines around the figures) in the Soviet Union of the 1960s. The yellow and red background helps create contrast with the help of color, highlighting the dancers' bodies even better. Vigorous dynamics and strange hats do not let the dancing care subside.
In the 1960s, Valdur Ohakas went along with the modernist art innovation, painting chic musical entertainment scenes to make up for the years spent in a post-war prison camp and to fulfill his prison camp dreams. Apparently, this painting also belongs to the corresponding section.
