The graphic sheet is divided into two plans. The upper plan is painterly and reminiscent of Olga Terri’s own painting, the lower plan is more graphic-drawing. The garden as a strong symbolic image has probably come into the visual arts from the Old Testament, referring to an ideal state or a longing for it. Is it not also in this work, or in case of light and shadows, to refer to the Italian term ‘chiaroscuro’, which means ‘light-shadow’ or ‘light-darkness’ in Renaissance art and later, and which refers to biblical meanings.
