Paul Allik

The historical table screen, which is repeated in several paintings by Paul Allik, is painted here with a seated nude from behind. The brushwork of the relatively abstract work is somewhat reminiscent of the innovative painting approach of the art group Group T from the early 1990s. An idyllic scene can come from a corner of the garden, a veranda, a summer room. A red cloth hanging freely on the arm of the chair is added as an accent.
Paul Allik's best-known performance as a pop singer was "Mustamäe valss" (1971), and Paul Allik's institutional career as a painter reached the chairmanship of the Estonian Artists' Union in the mid-1990s. The painter's sunny personality also echoes in his work.
