An enchantingly airy and elegant winter cityscape, where Pilar masterfully moves between concreteness and vagueness. Some of the architectural accents are accentuated, but the overall atmosphere of the painting is light and white in winter. Interestingly, Pilar also moves between different eras: we see a medieval stratification in the form of the church and towers in the background, a more recent stratification influenced by the Romanesque agglomeration, and apparently the chimneys and electricity poles of the power station, which in turn speak of progress. In the arena between the houses, however, we can assume a skating rink and people skating there.
