Linda Riber Sørensen "Inuit"

Linda Riber Sørensen born in Maniitsoq in 1967. An adopted child, Linda has lived in Denmark most of her life. Nevertheless her soul and her heart belongs to her Greenlnadic forefathers. Themes such as the Inuits, spirit, pride, the richness in animals and the Inuits’ close connection with the grandness and power of nature are often found in her longing, inspiration and motivation.
Linda tries to depict the pride and the importance of the Inuits’ roots – in an expressive way. She believes that by working on the identity – in pain and development – there will be “gifts” which can provide power and strength for both people and the society. Linda qualified as an occupational therapist but in 1999 she chose to work as a part-time artist and part-time occupational therapist.
