“Luiged” by Anatoli Kaigorodov proceeds in its choice of motifs from conciousness. Swans have always had in art, but also in literature, a very symbolistic meaning, standing for eternal love, longing for something, hope.
Kaigorodov has brought the birds back into their direct natural environment and it seems that he is not striving to receive here a special charge of symbolism. The author has rather been interested in direct natural impression, as the visible preliminary work refers quite clearly to the fact that the artist has proceeded from a concrete scene. Or in other words: in the first range Kaigorodov is interested in the beauty of the scene.
