In her work Ruth Tulving joins the large pop-style colour surfaces that were “hip” in the 1970ies and a poetic view of the world. Half-figure of a Carmen-type woman blends into the general red background. Dreamlike and fantastic atmosphere are enhanced by the woman’s closed eyes and her depiction with just a contour. In this manner Tulving keeps to the main stream of the Estonian graphical art, being poetic, sensitive, gentle and warm.
