The first peak of Aino Bach is regarded the second half of the 1930ies. She captured the French elegance and was in a brilliant command of different graphical techniques. “Tütarlapsed” is one of her most emblematic works of that period, where encounter intimate atmosphere and generalizing manner of depiction, sincerity and the Parisian spirit. The main attention is drawn on eyes, the mirror of the soul, and everything else has been achieved by black and grey surfaces and semi-hues. Differently from the later creation, she also boldly uses the help of light and shadow, which gives the work the necessary mystery. Bach uses a little, but achieves a lot.
