The exhibition works of Jüri Arrak are the new ones, being
exposed for the first time and they have been painted especially for the
basement hall of the Haus Gallery. |
|
The exhibition is conceptual. Arrak himself comments on
his exhibition that if body chemistry can be regarded the internal process
of the body, the body\'s physics is its outer expression. Such external
manifestation of internal processes both in people and in the society is
being depicted by Arrak with his current exhibition. Everything internal
we can imagine to ourselves either in the exhibition hall or in our heads,
but we can see the outer one-to-one in exactly such colour-form
combination as it is exposed to us. |
|
The one-to-one picture world eof Jüri Arrak exposes to us 5
collage technique paintings in which are depicted men in extra colourful
green, red and blue outer bodies, who show real banknotes and cheques,
originating from different periods and states. Colour combinations of men
and banknotes are paradox, ironising the era. In the same rhythms has been
created the whole exposition, 2 paintings of which for example are bodies
of canvas, being physically shattered by the artist, through which can be
seen the internal life of paintings. |
|
Colour active exhibition is being balanced by the small
formats of the paintings that leave into the exhibition hall sufficient
air room for the visitor to make his own generalisations of the exposed
art. |
