Orest\'s brother Andrei is a famous graphic artist. Still the \"young\" Kormaðovs have been able to develop a style of creation that is only characteristic to them that they demonstrate now together.

NEW BEGINNINGS

The Inuit language has no word for art. It was not until the Inuits’ first meeting with Europeans that a new word eqqumiitsuliaq was invented. The meaning of it is “something curious which has been prepared”. Prepared items were most often articles for use in everyday life such as fishing, whaling and sealing tackle and clothing. Their decorations reflect a close relationship with nature, its magic and a rich verbal tradition of stories told by their forefathers.

LANDSCAPE VISIONS

When the Estonian landscape painting is searching with its controlled colours still for the \"typically Estonian\", then Arrak\'s sharp and direct colour relations search for something \"generally human\". The artist does not express anything \"personal\" anymore, he is not tied to himself. Here can be found everything and everybody. And eternally and forever.

BRIDGES

\"For me has always been important to search for a sign through which to express my feelings,\" the author acknowledges. Therefore it does not seem amazing anymore, why an experienced lecturer of painting from the Estonian Art Academy constantly tries to cross the limits of herself and painting or doubt in the existence of their necessity.
