Olga Terri was not particularly fond of signing her paintings throughout, being a walker in her own right who manifested being by herself. An artist whose work was not influenced by Soviet censorship and rulebooks, that she would have considered it necessary to subordinate her style or the world of the painter to it. This way, her work is sensitive and inward-looking, there are no flashy elements in it but rather depth and restraint prevail. This is also the case in Terri’s African themed paintings, such as the present one. In Africa, the artist had a sister, whom Terri managed to visit, drawing inspiration from the local atmosphere. A series of paintings with a southern mood, the atmosphere of which glows dreamily far beyond the boundaries of the picture.
