For art there exists hardly a more thrilling theme than nature – something which has actually often been looked at as a phenomenon outside art. Next to endless landscapes come to the fore still-lives, for which have developed in the course of times certain canons. Silvia Leitu handles skilfully the soft beauty of flowers, but simultaneously introduces in a crafty manner several new approaches. In this way the objects, which usually interest artists the most – blossoms and a vase in a difficult round form - have been left at the first glance colourless. Leitu has in her turn enlarged the leaves, but with their vigorous colour she emphasizes the slightly unique beauty of the flowers, being different from the traditionally seen sweetness.
