Very 1950s stylistics – the woman's pose, the background shadow, the detailed elaboration of light and shadow on the model's body. At the same time, the carelessly held textile in the lower right is marked with only contours, bringing an incredible contrast to the image. Ilmar Torn, from Saaremaa, was able to successfully balance between artistic freedom and what was required by the state during the Soviet era, remaining in a good sense a serious player in both the great art bureaucracy and great art.
