Priit Pangsepp, an artist of the South-Estonian school of thought, is primarily associated with the Kursi school of thought – an association of artists founded in Tartu in 1988 by Peeter Allik, Albert Gulk, Ilmar Kruusamäe, and Priit Pangsepp. The idea of the Kursi school of thought was to send a message to the world that artists do not necessarily have to live in Tallinn in order to receive recognition! The sensual portrait conveys the spirit of a woman through a character profile. Who the less-focused four faces surrounding her are is probably the artist’s inside information. Does the red frame mean symbolic protection for those depicted?
