Johannes Võerahansu’s charcoal drawing of an extravagant bundle of yellow goldfinches gives the impression that he has ‘painted with charcoal’ in the post-impressionist style characteristic of his paintings. Obviously, the flower vases on the low bench of the farmhouse cannot accommodate all this natural capacity. The viewer has to think up the colours themselves. In the spring of 2023, the University of Tartu Museum will host an exhibition of Võerahansu’s paintings ‘Pariisi taeva all’ (‘Under the Parisian Sky)’, of which curator Krista Piirimäe will publish a monograph.
