Enn Volmere, a painter of landscapes of South Estonia, has created a landscape panorama with views from up to down. The high horizon brings a glimpse of what is happening on land. The style of painting is associated with the harsh style of the 1960s (dark contours), a slight request for geometry is felt in the type of depiction. In case of Enn Volmere, it is interesting that his interest in art was aroused as a teenager in high school by his drawing teacher Märt Laarman, one of the brightest Estonian avant-garde artists of the 1920s, and the founders of the Group of Estonian Artists. This auction selection also includes a graphic sheet by Märt Laarman, albeit from 1942. Having studied beekeeping and agriculture, Enn Volmere focused his attention as an artist on topics close to his heart.
