Sirje Petersen

The theme of Sirje Petersen, who is actively appearing in exhibitions, is femininity and a woman’s perspective, but not in a combative feminist key. The painting here of two people creates a metaphor of harmony and agreement, for which both parties must have the will. In an aesthetic sense, Jaan Toomik’s painting style shines through a little. Sirje Petersen’s painting has been recognised by the audience – at the 2019 Art Hall Spring Exhibition, she was handed the Audience Award, which could not be an easy achievement in the midst of so many high-profile works.
