“Kullerkupud” by Ida Anton-Agu is a rarely powerful still-life. If mainly a flower painting is used as a pretext for studying subtle colour transmissions, then Anton-Agu’s colour contrasts are extremely strong. But just in this manner the motif itself, not the artist’s pushy interpretation, is coming to the fore. The yellow of the globeflowers is drawn out the way it would be seen in bright sunshine and for the very first time: impetuously and instantly.
