Eduard Rüga, by the way one of the best friends of Richard Uutmaa, is one of the most thrilling and in many senses undiscovered authors in the Estonian art history. There is little known about his creation, as he left Estonia during the war. The gradually returning works show him as an author of sheets, having been accomplished in skilful coloured graphics that considerably refresh the present laconic school of graphical art. Actually Rüga’s approach was in its time so unexpected that his teachers even put under question his studying in „Pallas“, but the quick recognition abroad proved the right chosen direction.
