Small graphics

The works of Tarmo Roosimölder speak to us about different employees.

Tarmo Roosimölder as an artist is an autodidact, who as a self-learned person started to deal with art in a more active manner in the year 1989. Roosimölder started to participate at  exhibitions from 1991, exhibiting both his paintings and graphical art. His works, being in the state of  a steadfast content, are mainly built up on emptyness (Roosimölder: the outer space) and a single detail in it. But let us remark: what is “a single detail” in the sense of a painting technique, is actually for Roosimölder a human being in the centre of the world. The current exhibition is clearly gathered around one theme.

The artist himself has seen his series as follows:
Beginning of the new series of graphical art was supposed to be of different jobs of a man. As a result also a politically incorrect title: men at work, one should say people at work, but that does not sound well enough. A choice of different jobs emerged in the course of work: out were left those ones, which are not so easy to depict. All kinds of machine operating men. I generally avoid depicting on pictures  man-made machinery. It is more interesting to follow the existence of man, if he can not justify it with a piece of equipment. He is alone in the room, he himself must pull the roots up from the soil and dry clay into a wall.
A totally asocial approach. Group relation are more subordinated to regularity and therefore are also connected to machinery. I still have not found in myself the interest to depict it. Machinery makes life easier, but a tight network of relationships does not leave time for thinking and looking into oneself. Therefore I prefer a standing figure on an empty field – fresh winds blow through nostrils and cools.
But this is not an escape. Every field has an edge and from there starts water. And if anyone needs fish, he has to catch it.
