Hands

Hands, the hands of many. All with a message.

As continuation of the tradition founded seven years ago already the bank’s gallery is again reserved for our youngest authors. Today, on February 3 at 3pm the exhibition „Hands“ by the pupils of Old Town Educational College will be opened in SEB Gallery.
A hand is a universal, powerful, widespread meaningful symbol through all times, a universal carrier of information. A hand as unique information on the level of an individual, as the conveyor of energy, creator of rituals. Putting a hand on someone can alleviate pain, a caress has magic power, a single touch may launch destruction. Each hand has its own message to pass.
A person’s hand indicates his physical uniqueness – one-of-a-kind lines in the palm and patterns on the hand’s skin.
Also everyday expressions are associated with hands like “golden hands”, “lucky hand”, “claws to oneself”, “hand washes hand”, “dirty hands”, “clean hands”, “friend’s hand”, “kind hands” etc.

The vision of the project “Hands” has been executed with the support and direction of the pupils of all classes (from the first to the twelfth) and originated form Ülle Marks’s idea. The gallery’s walls are covered with works forming an endless mural. It’s a kind of a record of us at the present moment. Our visions, thoughts, messages of our hands convey both universal and unique information.
