865.t1.jpg NEW EXHIBITION - JAANIKA PEERNA "FOR SOLACE"

While taking a stroll through the lovely and snowy Tallinn old town, come visit our new exhibition "For Solace..." - open until the end of January.
Jaanika Peerna's large-scale works invite you to reflect and at the same time have a meditative effect, allowing your gaze to wander along the flowing forms and look even further from the pictures...
Simultaneously with the exhibition at Haus Gallery you can see Jaanika Peerna's sculptural wall installation at the Writers' House in Tallinn, which has a very close connection with the artworks on display.
Jaanika Peerna has also just published her book "Glacier Elegies," which can be browsed and purchased in the gallery!

774.t1.jpg NEW EXHIBITION JAAN ELKEN: MEMORY OF THE PLACE III

The exhibition „Memory of the Place III“ at Haus Gallery consists of a series of large and middle-scale paintings, in which muted colour schemes recreate powerful references to epic wastelands – whether volcanic plains in Island, rock and sand deserts of North America and and North Africa, or the abstract textures and silhouettes of metropols such as San Fransisco or New York. Yet, the emphasis on urban culture and its marks on walls, surfaces and spaces co-exist in Jaan Elken’s paintings together with more eternal rules. As a painter, he navigates an aesthetically disturbed world which aims to connect to the viewer from a more universal and global position.

729.t1.jpg MUMMUISM IN OUR HOUSE

Ashot Jegikjan's "Springtime and Mummuism" at Haus Gallery from 03.03.2020 to 04.04.2020

Ashot Jegikjan's solo exhibition "Springtime and Mummuism" opens on March 3 at 6 p.m. on the bottom floor of Haus Galley. Everyone is welcome!

Ashot Jegikjan is one of those artists whose perception of atmospheres, moments and people is exceptionally sharp. Moreover, it is important for him to communicate those states of mind and moods without losing any nuance. Ashot captures the moments that pass many people by without notice. He makes note of these moments with uncompromising empathy, observing without judgement, painstakingly. Too often, this kind of attentiveness tends to become a thankless labor, getting lost in daily haste and decision-making. It is necessary to sit down and merely observe every once in a while; this need eventually finds its way out, for example, in art, in Ashot Jegikjan’s paintings. These allow the viewer to enter the moments that they have not experienced directly, because the impressions that they give are universally human.
