Debora Vaarandi’s art collection in Haus Gallery
On 10 September an exhibition of the art collection of the legendary Estonian writer and translator Debora Vaarandi, called “Years and Days”, will be opened in Haus Gallery, ending with the auction of the artworks.

The exhibition is dedicated to Debora Vaarandi’s (1 October 1916 – 28 April 2007) anniversary of birth, introducing also the writer’s life and creative work. More than 60 pieces of art are displayed– mostly graphic sheets that the writer received as gifts from the artists during her life. Authors like Eduard Wiiralt, Aino Bach, Kaarel Liimand, Märt Laarman and many others are represented.

Vaarandi’s collection is emotional, reflecting the relationships between creative people characteristic to her era.

At the heirs’ request part of the collection will be sold at the end of the exhibition, not to let it be forgotten behind closed doors. Rather have the memory of the writer live on in fragments, have her and her creative work be reminded of in the homes of people appreciating art through the pictures that once belonged to her.

Vaarandi’s heritage collection will available for purchasing on an auction held in Internet from 1 to 9 October.

More detailed information about the auction will be available on Haus Gallery’s homepage during the exhibition.
